Mother’s Retreat: Restorative Yin + Yoga Nidra

A special collaboration as part of a one-day Mother’s retreat offered by Wisdom Is Yours.

The day will begin with Simone sharing this special and deeply restorative Yin Yoga + Yoga Nidra class, designed to nourish and heal the body, mind and soul of every goddess.

During this 75 minute experience, supported by balancing sound scapes, you will have the opportunity to release built up tension and stress to return to your natural state of being, one that is whole, serene and full of clarity.

About Yin Yoga

Yin is practice where shapes are held for a length of time, anywhere between two to five minutes (or more). Supported by props where necessary, these long passive holds allow us to work into the deeper tissues in the body, where fascia experts say deeply lodged patterns of holdings are held – ‘the issues are in the tissues’.

In this particular session we will target the fascia of both the upper and lower body, drawing on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wisdom to clear any blockages in central meridian pathways.

This is a practice that is suitable for all. No experience is necessary.

About Yoga Nidra

After our Yin Yoga of one hour, we will use the last 15/20 minutes to layer in another healing practice, Yoga Nidra, the most gentle of yoga practices where you simply lie on your back in corpse pose (called Savasana in Sanskrit).

In this particular practice of Yoga Nidra, you will be invited on a sarced journey around your body, rotating consciousness to release and holdings and connect with the trusting rhythm truth and light within.

Yoga Nidra is also known as Yogic Sleep. It not only helps you to recognise your more subtle energies, but also promotes deep rest and wellbeing.

Yoga Nidra is also reported to assist you in accessing your calm state more readily, improve your sleep, and sharpen your mind and creativity long after practicing it – 20 minutes of Yoga Nidra, which is said to equate to two hours of sleep. A practice that can be very replenshing for many new Mum’s short on sleep.

All equipment will be provided (mat, blanket, bolsters/cushions), however please bring an additional cushion should you wish to offer any part of your body, such as head or low back/knees, extra support as you lie down for this noursihing experience.  An eye mask, crystal, or any other sacred object is also most welcome.
